Shop with Speed Beez today for speed loaders, grips, revolver holsters, and other revolver accessories that are designed for the Ruger LCR.

What Is A Ruger LCR?

The Ruger LCR was announced in 2009 and released in 2010. It is easy to grab and draw thanks to its polymer grip and trigger housing. Thanks to the concealed hammer, there’s no chance of the hammer getting caught on clothing. The concealed hammer means that the LCR is double-action only. If you’re not a fan of a heavy trigger pull, you don’t have to worry — the LCR uses a friction-reducing cam that makes firing it smooth and easy.

Perhaps the most notable aspect of this revolver is its weight. LCR stands for Lightweight Compact Revolver, and it certainly lives up to the name. The frame is made from an aluminum alloy reinforced with a glass-filled polymer, which means that this powerful little gun weighs in at only 13.5 ounces — half the weight of Rugers like the SP101, which is made from stainless steel.

The Ruger LCR was first introduced as a five-shot .38 Special, but it was soon joined by a .357 Magnum version. The .38 Special and .357 Magnum versions are the two most popular calibers, which is why we offer five-shot speed loaders for these revolvers. Since that time, an eight-shot .22 version has also been released, as well as .38 Special-P (with exposed hammer), 9mm, and .327 Federal Magnum editions. Note that the .357 Magnum, 9mm Luger, and .327 lose their weight advantages because the larger rounds necessitate the use of a stainless steel frame.

Like many popular revolvers, people like to customize their guns and spice things up a little. Let’s take a look at some of the add-ons you can get for this Ruger revolver, including many of them that are available at Speed Beez!

LCR .38 Five-shot Speedloader

You probably shouldn’t be surprised that we’re going to start off with a speed loader — we’re Speed Beez! We’ve big fan of how they can make things go quickly and smoothly when you’re at the range.

One of the best ways to become a better shot with your revolver is to take it to the range and practice until your wrist is sore. Instead of dropping your rounds on the lane as you reload by hand, grab a five-shot speedloader for your .38 Special or .357 Magnum. (Don’t forget to pick up the matching loading block and case as well. These revolver accessories will make it so your next 50 rounds are at the ready, and you don’t have to worry about them spilling when the lid is closed.)

LCR Five-shot 9mm Moon Clip

There’s a lot to love about 9mm Luger rounds (9X19 Parabellum or 9mm NATO). They’re relatively cheap, they have a lot of stopping power, and you can get them just about anywhere. Plus, you likely have ammo sitting around for a 9mm semi-auto that you own. Because of the popularity of the caliber, it was no surprise when Ruger introduced a 9mm version of the LCR.

Because the 9X19 Parabellum round is rimless, you’re going to need moon clips, and that’s why we have five-shot moon clips for your Ruger LCR in quantities of 10, 20, and 50 so that you’ll always be ready to reload. And since new moon clips can be a bit tight, you’ll also receive a free de-mooning tool to help get the spent brass out of the clips.

Ruger LCR Holster

When you combine a lightweight frame with a concealed hammer and a snub nose, there’s no doubt that you have an excellent candidate for a concealed carry revolver. These great little guns are used by men and women alike as a carry option that is nearly so light that you’ll forget you’re carrying it.

When it comes to holsters for the Ruger LCR, Speed Beez has several great options. We carry both right- and left-handed models, as well as an ambidextrous version that fits inside the waistband. With one of our revolver holsters, you’ll always be able to grab that polymer grip when the need arises. And speaking of grips…

Changeable Grip

The LCR has a grip peg that allows the grips to be changed to a style that is more to your liking. The default polymer grip is a great option because of the reduced impact on your hand every time you fire, but some people enjoy accessorizing their LCR with aftermarket grips. These include wood grips, metal grips, pearl, and plastic. Some of these variants can be useful, others are merely cosmetic and can actually make the gun more difficult to fire. But we’re not about to tell someone what they can or can’t do with their revolver!

Laser Sights

Besides the standard polymer grip, there is another option offered by the factory. That’s the Crimson Trace laser sight that is built right into the grip. All you have to do is grab the grip, and a button located under your middle finger activates the laser. It’s truly a point and shoot revolver!

There are also aftermarket laser sights available that fit under the barrel and hug the trigger housing. Whichever option you end up choosing is really up to you and your shooting style.

Optical Sights

If you’re not into laser sights, there’s always optical revolver sights. If you’re not into the pinned-ramp front sight with the white center bar, there are many other types of sights out there in different colors, including a glow-in-the-dark green. It all depends on what you like and the kind of shooting you expect to be doing.

Safety Gear

We want you shooting for a lifetime, so don’t forget to grab the safety basics. Always wear ear protection when shooting your LCR, which, for maximum protection, should consist of shooting earmuffs worn over ear plugs. Eye protection is also important, so be sure to wear some shooter’s goggles. Don’t forget about the trigger locks for when you’re not carrying your LCR around with you.
