Advantage of Speed Loaders Over Moon Clips

Here at Speed Beez, we set out to create the ultimate speed loader, and we think we’ve done it. So while there certainly is a place in the world for moon clips, we know that speedloaders, more often than not, are the way to go. Why?

Secured Cartridges: Moon clips hold your rimmed or rimless cartridges in there pretty well, but they can be dislodged from the clip too easily because there’s nothing but pressure keeping them in. With a speed loader, your cartridges are secured mechanically, so even if you bump them or wave them about they won’t release. They will also be more secured when they’re in speed loader holders.

Reloading The Speed Loader: When you use a dock with your speed loader, there’s no doubt about it…it’s faster to reload the speed loader when you’re at the range. Drop your brass and <click>, you’re reloaded. While you can certainly preload as many moon clips as you want when you’re at home, you’re still having to snap a lot of cartridges into place, which can wear on your fingers.
