Buying A Speedloader As a Gift? Here’s How To Figure Out What Gun To Buy For

2015-09-25 17.13.52For many of you, identifying which revolver your significant other shoots with at the range is as easy as knowing what kind of car you drive…you’re constantly around it, so it tends to make an impression on you. In fact, you might have even helped them decide on which gun was right for them.

But we also know that some of you have absolutely no interest in guns, even though you have no problems with your significant other’s interest. So, while you might want to get them a great firearm-related Christmas present, you may have no idea which speedloader they might need. We’re here to tell you the easiest ways to find out.

(No matter which one of these you decide, we really must emphasize…BE SAFE. If you’re unfamiliar with firearms, we might suggest that the the third, fourth, or fifth options below might be the best.)

Read the gun: Most modern guns will tell you their model number somewhere on the body. It might be on the barrel, it might be on the frame just above the handle. It could be on the right-hand side or the left-hand side. (Again, always be careful when flipping a gun from side to side and make sure the barrel is never pointed at anyone.) Write down any names and numbers you find, and if you aren’t sure how they correspond to the speedloaders on our site, contact us at 480-426-9545 and we help you decode them.

Take a picture: Take a picture of the gun, email it to us, and we can help you identify it. Taking close-ups of any words you see will help us even more. Again, be extremely careful moving the gun if you’re unfamiliar with it.

Read up: Firearms come with instruction manuals! If you know where the soon-to-be recipient keeps the paperwork for his or her guns, simply refer to these and you’ll never have to go anywhere near the firearm itself. (This is much, much easier if they only have one revolver. If they have multiples, you’ll probably need to use one of the other methods.)

Ask a shooting friend: If the person you’re buying for is a regular shooter, there’s a good chance that they have shooter friends who know exactly what kind of revolver they’re using on the lanes. If you know any of them, give them a call and get the details on the firearms that the person you’re shopping for uses.

Just ask them!: It might ruin the surprise for them a little knowing that you’re getting them something for their gun, but you don’t have to tell them that you’re getting them a speedloader. And since you’re doing that, go ahead and buy them a revolver speed holster while you’re at it!

We want to make sure you get your significant other, parent, or child the perfect speedloader for their revolver. Find out what they need and treat them to the best from Speed Beez!
