How To Wear A Revolver Speed Holster Incorrectly

As simple as they might look, there’s a right way and a wrong way to wear revolver speed loaders. And however, you start to wear it when you begin drawing quickly is the way you’ll want to continue wearing it…unless, of course, how you’re wearing it reduces your speed by any measurable degree. So watch out for these common revolver speed holster mistakes.

Too High – If you’re wearing your competition holster too high, your arm has to travel too far to make an effective draw, and you elbow has to bend too much, making the whole process more complicated than it has to be. On top of that, once your arm is raised high enough to grab the pistol, it has to go even higher to lift it out of the holster.

Too Far Behind You: Again, we’re talking about sending your arm too far out of the way as to be efficient. When you drop your arms to your sides, it’s pretty obvious that that’s a natural place for your hand to be. While having your pistol in a comfortable place when you’re driving is important, make sure to get it back into position once you’re out of the vehicle.

At A Different Level: One thing that will mess you up every time is having your gun at a different level from day to day. If it’s too high one day and just an inch lower the next, your hand is going to head to the wrong place to find your pistol.

Always make sure to keep your firearm in the same place for the most natural and fastest draw. The best way to do this is with a competition shooting belt, such as our blade tech competition belts
