How We Pick A Revolver Model To Make A Speedloader For

pick-revolver

Here at Speed Beez, we offer a variety of speedloaders that honestly can’t be matched in the industry. That’s because far too many speedloaders out there try to accommodate too many models of revolver at once. They like to think that every six-shot 9mm works perfectly no matter what brand of revolver you have.

That’s not the way Speed Beez works. Instead of making a speedloader and hoping for the best, Speed Beez manufactures each one here in the USA that has been designed to perfectly fit in a particular revolver every time. We don’t believe in one-size-fits-all. So how do we decide which revolver to make a speedloader for? Here are a few things that go into our decision.

When No One Else Is Making It

As we discussed in our previous blog when we were talking to a customer about our high-capacity speedloaders, most of them out there from other manufacturers are 6-shot .38/.357 speedloaders (and made in China). Look a little harder and you’ll find some 8-shot .22LR speedloaders. But what about the 7-shot, 9-shot, and 10-shot speedloaders? There aren’t any other high-quality options out there other than Speed Beez.

It seems to us that a 10-shot speedloader makes the most sense of all. After all, with a ten shot you’re dealing with the smallest ammo and have to reload the most cartridges! We carry 10-shot speedloaders, cases, and loading blocks for the Ruger GP100 and Smith & Wesson 617 when no one else will. What other oddness do we carry? How about a 9-shot for the Taurus 94 and Taurus Tracker 991 and 992. And speaking of oddballs, we provide a quick loader for the 7-shot Smith & Wesson Model 351.

If It’s Still In Production

There are thousands of models of guns out there, but not all of them are still in production. The ones that we make speedloaders and moon clips for are usually (but not always) models that are still in production. For instance, the Ruger LCR has been in production for under a decade and shows no signs of slowing down, and that’s why we carry 5-shot 9mm moon clips and speedloaders for it.

It’s more likely that we’ll keep moon clips around that just so happen to fit revolvers that might not be in production anymore. The Ruger Security Six was around from 1972 until 1988, but we still have 9mm moon clips that work in it just fine. (Holsters, too.)

Is There A Market?

We’re gun enthusiasts, but we’re also a business. As such, there are times that we have to look at the numbers and say “probably not,” even if we own one of the revolvers ourselves. Creating a new speedloader takes quite a bit of effort, so it wouldn’t make much sense if we offered them and only sold five copies.

Can We Make It Right?

When we make a speedloader, we make it right. We design and make it right here in the United States, and Speed Beez has become known in high-end loader circles. Because our reputation is at stake, we’re not going to build a fast loader that we’re not proud of. If for some reason there was a reason our speedloaders wouldn’t work absolutely perfectly with a revolver, we wouldn’t sell it. Lucky for us and our customers, that hasn’t happened yet!

Sure, it would be nice if we could make a speedloader for every revolver that’s every been made, but you have to admit that would be insanely impractical. Still, Speed Beez offers more variety than any other manufacturer out there, and we’re proud of what we produce. There’s a good chance we can accommodate your modern revolver, so check out your next speedloader right here.
