Practice, Practice, Practice With Your Speedloader and Revolver Speed Holster

You’ve heard that practice makes perfect. And you’ve heard that if you spend 10,000 hours on anything you’ll become an expert at it. So when it comes to competitive shooting, guess what…you need to practice if you want to get better.

But it’s not just practicing shooting. In fact, shooting is probably the only important part that you’re already good at, because chances are you’ve been shooting your entire life. What you haven’t been doing is seeing how fast you can draw (it was probably frowned upon as dangerous when you were growing up) and using a speedloader (not many people have them or have need for them growing up.)

So don’t just get part way to being a professional. Make sure you practice all three of these to make yourself the best shooter:

Practice with your holster: Unload your firearm and practice drawing until your arm hurts. Practice while you’re watching TV so that you can do it without even thinking. Practice until you can draw it without your gun touching the sides of the holster while it exits.

Practice with your speedloader: Our speedloaders are easy to use, but it takes a bit of practice to get to “professional” levels of speed. Make up some dummy rounds (including the lead) so that you can practice without having to worry about live ammo. And make sure you practice with every gun you have…a 5-shot .38 special speedloader is going to feel a lot different from a 9-shot .22lr speedloader. And don’t forget to practice the eject just as much…another advantage to working with dummy rounds.

Practice shooting: Oh yeah, practice this too. Practice not only your aim but also the aim you can take after pulling the revolver from its holster. Because if you can’t hit the target then you’re not going to be a pro!

As you can see, the shooting is important, but it doesn’t mean very much if you’re not practicing with your revolver speed holster and your speedloader.
