We Debunk 2 Common Revolver Myths

Here at Speed Beez, we’ve created the perfect 38 and 357 speed loaders for your revolvers. Need one for the Ruger GP100? We’ve got it. How about for the Smith & Wesson L-Frame? Yep, and same for the K-frame. We’ve got the 6-shot speed loaders for you. Today we’re going to explore two popular myths surrounding low capacity revolvers.

  1. Six shots are enough if you’re a good shot. Like most myths or stereotypes, this one has a bit of truth to it. Almost everyone agrees that shot placement is a key component of self-defense. There’s actually two myths that come to surface here: Firstly, it’s saying that a “good” shooter is always going to be able to make a solid vital zone hit with every shot fired in a fight. Secondly, you’re assuming six well placed shots will be enough to stop an attack.  While there is no substitute for having more ammo, shot placement will always be important and becomes increasingly important with the fewer rounds you have.
  2. Using a bigger bullet means that you won’t need as many to put down an attacker. Ignoring the fact that magnum and big bore calibers are more difficult to shoot quickly and accurately under stress, we’re again still assuming that you’re going to be hitting your intended target in a timely manner. Rather than counting on big bore calibers and magnum loads, choose a load that allows you to control the gun effectively so you can get multiple hits in the same spot.
